Dallas' Room

Dallas' room is complete. We have finally finished all of the things we wanted to do to his room before he was born. Really we were only 1 month late getting it done since he was a month early!

Mom and I went to Simply Baby in Salina to get the letters for Dallas' name. We also got two signs that say Buckaroo and Cowboy. You can see them above the rocking chair along with his boots. Above the changing table we have the picture the nurses took of Dallas while we were in the hospital and next to the closet is the cross Jared's mom gave us at the church shower. We put Dallas' name above his crib.

Dallas sleeps in his crib during the day sometimes, but he is still sleeping in his bassinet during the night.

A First For Everything

This week Dallas had a lot of firsts.

On Wednesday night after church he experienced his first trip to McDonald's. Grandma and Grandpa came along too. Dallas rested in his car seat while his dad enjoyed a "senior" coffee. I am not sure Jared is really the senior of the group!

On Thursday we went to Wichita and Dallas made his first trip to Texas Roadhouse. He really wanted to order a "Dallas Fillet" but settled for a nap in his car seat instead.

Everyone had a great time. It was so fun to have all of the Grandma's and Grandpa's with us.

Dallas even slept through the loud music and line dancing. After we ate, we went to Babies R' Us and bought a mobile with the gift card Bob and Carol gave me. Then we went to Best Buy and picked out a video camera. Maybe now I can post video too!

Good Patient

Dallas had a doctor's appointment on Monday. He weighed 10 lbs. 12.5 oz. and he is 22.75 inches long. Dr. Thomas said he looks great! Dallas was a good patient for Dr. Thomas. There were two other medical students in the room watching as Dallas was getting examined. Dr. Thomas would stop and explain what he was doing. Dallas would just lay there and wait patiently for the next exam. Here Dr. Thomas is checking his ears and in the picture below he is checking his mouth.

Sunday Pictures

Dallas wore this cute outfit to church on Sunday. The sweater was a gift from Laverne at church. Everyone thought he looked handsome in his sweater!

Dallas was relaxing Sunday afternoon on Jared's lap.

Bath Time

We got some good pictures the other day during bath time. Dallas likes his "whale" bath tub. It seems to work really well.

One Day Late

Mom's Mother's Day present from Wendy, Teresa and I did not come in the mail until Monday. Jared and I decided to go to mom and dad's last night so she did not have to wait any longer for her present.

She got a book with pictures of all 6 of her grandkids. She loved it!

Working Hard

Jared spent some time doing some computer work at his "home office" yesterday. Dallas wanted to help him and of course Dad couldn't say no.

I am not sure how much work really got done!

First Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was great! While I was taking care of Dallas early this morning Jared made me eggs, sausage, and toast for breakfast. It was really good! Before we left for church Jared and Dallas gave me a Mother's Day gift. It was a diamond necklace!! It is beautiful. I was so surprised.

After church we went out to eat with mom and dad at Quizno's. Then we went to see Jared's mom and dad. While we were there we had some homemade ice cream that Adam made. For Mother's Day Bob and Carol gave me a cute backpack and a hanging flower pot and Adam, Brady and Jenna gave me two Johnny Cash gospel cds.

This evening we went to church and ate out at Braums with mom and dad and then they stoppped by our house for a little bit to hang out with Dallas. What a special first Mother's Day I will never forget!

Nascar Gear

Every year in April, Jared and his brothers go to the Nascar race in Texas. This year was a little different because the race was way to close to Dallas' due date. Jared decided he better not go.

Adam and Brady were so nice and brought Dallas back some Nascar gear.

They also found a door knob sign that looks really good in his room.

Jared even got a cool coffee mug.

Thanks Adam and Brady for all of the great gifts!

Happy Birthday Adam

Yesterday evening we went over to Marquette to celebrate Adam's birthday. We had some great food and awesome cake! Adam opened presents and blew out a candle.

While all of this was happening, Dallas was relaxing with Brady.

Later in the evening Dallas got to sit with the birthday boy.

Sunday Stroll

It was a beautiful afternoon today. We decided to go on a walk around the block.

It was the first time to use our stroller.

It was nice to get out and get some sun.

Dallas even enjoyed the ride...he slept the whole way.
